Unless otherwise noted all Guild meetings are held the second Monday of every month from 7-9 P.M.at Christ Presbyterian Church in the Fireside Room.

Dear MCWG Members and Friends:

One of the things we can appreciate most about the Minnesota Christian Writers Guild is the public platform we offer our amazing God. The theme verse (above) reminds us that He values the written word and sets a high standard for those of us who would be writers. It comes as no surprise, then, that the goal we set for each meeting is to educate and encourage writers who aspire to this high calling.

When you look at the enclosed brochures, you’ll see that the MCWG Board of Directors has once again worked diligently to secure the speakers for September through May. Looking at this year’s line-up, you’ll notice an array of subjects chosen to inspire and equip a wide range of writers whether they’re interested in fiction or non-fiction, articles, short stories or books. We offer motivational speakers, those who will give tips on writing well and submitting to various markets, those who write for mystery-lovers or kids or the internet, and those who’ll offer writing exercises so you can hone your personal skills. Each one shares from his or her own calling and experience, but seeks to encourage you in yours as well.

Authors who want to display and sell their books at the November 12th meeting will be asked to fill out an Application Form this year. You’ll find it on the website, or you can request it from me as an e-mail attachment. Also be sure to attend our low-cost Fall and Spring Seminars. They’ll be offered on Saturday, November 3 and Saturday, April 12. Lastly, we have the plans in place for our annual Writing Contest (it will be announced in January with a deadline of April 14).

I hope you’ll join us and participate in another exciting year for MCWG! Review the enclosed literature, send in your Membership Form, and join us for as many meetings and seminars as possible. It is our hope that you’ll not only be educated in writing techniques and professional protocol, but that you’ll be personally enriched as well. I look forward to seeing you soon.
