Sue Hume’s passion is to help women draw near to God, particularly mothers of children with special needs. She is editor of the Grace Church disability ministry monthly e-news, a small group leader, and speaker. Her work has appeared in Christian Communicator, Exceptional Parent, and church newsletters.

Joe Field is an attorney practicing in Anoka, Minnesota.

He has been a member of the Minnesota Christian Writer’s Guild for four years now and has been published, as a columnist, in the Minnesota Christian Chronicle and the Minnesota Family Council newspaper, Pro-Family News. He also serves as Chairman of the Salvation Army Harvest Corp Advisory Council in Coon Rapids and is a member of the Christian Legal Aid Society of Minnesota. Joe is currently writing a ‘how to’ book for non-custodial parents advising them how to lower burdensome child support obligations.

Joe lives in Ramsey, MN with his wife of 11 years and two daughters, Kelsey (9) and Kayley (7).

Treasurer Keith Johnson is a self-employed business analyst. He has been a member of MCWG for approximately 10 years. His primary writing interests are poetry and commentaries on social, cultural and political issues from a Christian perspective. He has had several articles published by the Minnesota Christian Chronicle and the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Mary Fran Heitzman has been a member of the Minnesota Christian Writers Guild for six years and is a certified member of Toastmasters International.

She enjoyes writing essays, poetry, devotionals, and magazine articles. Her work has appeared in Focus on the Family, Toastmaster and ByLine magazines.

She's completed three years of the Jerry B. Jenkins Christian Writers Guild Correspondence Course, five years of Bible Study Fellowship, and has co-facilitated Faith Interaction classes at St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Bloomington for two years. Her first book, "Starting From Scratch When You're Single Again," was co-authored with Sharon M. Knudson and released in September 2008.

Pat van der Merwe has been a member of MCWG for more than ten years. She and her husband, Derek recently retired from New Life Christian Center, the church they founded in the early nineties, so they can spend more time in South Africa, and Pat can focus on her writing. She write’s mostly non-fiction, and has recently published in Pray Magazine. She is currently writing a book on meditations of a prodigal’s mother, a topic close to her heart. Pat also enjoys speaking to women’s groups.
